LOVE:LIVE MUSIC - our young artists sing for International Music Day - free event!

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Thursday June 21st is International Music Day.

Music Network has initiated over 200 free live music events in villages, towns and cities all across the country to mark this day.

"On one day in the year, love:live music promotes access to music for all, aiming to animate public spaces with music performance and participation in celebration of Ireland's indigenous and diverse musical identity. Our ambition is to make Ireland the number one destination for International Music Day-trippers and an essential "must do" on the music tourist's calendar", commented Project Manager Jody Ackland, at a performance to launch the event, attended by Minister for the Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Jimmy Deenihan TD.

Having just put Ireland on the map for International Opera Days, Opera Theatre Company is proud and delighted to take part in International Music Day.

Join soprano Anna Brady and - taking a break from our Orfeo tour - tenor Fearghal Curtis and bass-baritone Padraic Rowan at Powerscourt Townhouse at 3pm on June 21st for a charming selection of operatic favourites.

This is a FREE event, no booking required, so get there early to secure your seat.
