In Mozart's tale of temptation and seduction, two young men boast of their lovers’ perfections. Worldly-wise Don Alfonso warns that all women are, by nature, fickle, and strikes a wager that these constant fiancées can be easily seduced. Convinced that they are right, the youths decide prove their true loves’ fidelity by donning disguises and tempting them themselves. Charming, witty and provocative, Così fan tutte is filled with beguiling arias and iconic ensembles, and explores the vagaries and vacillations of young love.

Wily and manipulative, Don Alfonso intends to win the bet, enlisting the help of Despina the sisters’ maid, to soften the young girls’ resolve. Filled with a winking irreverence, by the time this vivacious, intriguing opera ends, Mozart and his librettist Da Ponte, have spared no one.
