Dean now studies with Mary Brennan and Mairead Hurley at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, having received a B.A.Mus (1st class hons) from the Conservatory of Music & Drama D.I.T.. He is a multiple award winner including the Siemens Feis Ceoil and the Thomas Moore Young Singers competition. He has toured internationally as a Young Irish Tenor in Rhythm of the Dance. Operatic roles include Il Contino Belfiore in Mozart's La Finta Giardiniera (RIAM); 1st Priest The Magic Flute (Lyric Opera): Acis in Handel’s Acis & Galatea (OTC); Bastien in Mozart's Bastien & Bastienne (OTC) excerpts from Balfe, Standford & Wallace Gems of Irish Opera (Una Hunt). Oratorio includes J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, Handel’s Ode to the birthday of Queen Anne and Messiah and Schubert's Mass in G.
